Community Outreach Award
(Eligible recipients: Individual student or student group)
Making connections and demonstrating support for communities beyond the classroom is an essential skill for any leader in the 21st century. This award recognizes individuals and student groups that participate in community engagement projects that range from local events to global initiatives. Award nominees may participate in community engagement projects that support such social issues as environmental justice, social justice, economic or social equality, community building, teaching and education initiatives, and child advocacy, just to name a few.

Diversity & Multiculturalism Award
(Eligible recipients: Individual student or student group)
IU Southeast values a culture of inclusion and works to maintain a nurturing environment for all students, where diversity and respect for others is held in the highest esteem. The Diversity and Multiculturalism Award is bestowed upon a student or student group that demonstrates a commitment to the advancement of diversity and multiculturalism at IU Southeast through:
• A creative project and/or research
• Program participation or development and implementation
• Awareness and educational enlightenment initiatives
• A recruitment or retention initiative for under-represented student populations
• A project that positively impacts the curriculum, campus climate, or student population

Innovation Award
(Eligible recipients: Faculty and student(s))
At IU Southeast, education spans beyond the classroom walls through programs such study abroad, service-learning, and academic research. Holistic learning adds value to the educational experience for our students and through collaboration among faculty and students, innovative initiatives help change the way we function as an institution of higher learning. The Innovation Award is given to a faculty member and student(s) that have worked together on a project that addresses a need of the campus, surrounding community, or beyond.

Outstanding Student Involvement Award
(Eligible recipients: Individual student)
The word “integrity” is derived from the Latin word “integer” meaning “whole or complete”. An outstanding student leader is the “whole package” and acts with integrity, maintains a positive attitude, and represents the University well at all times. Therefore, the Outstanding Student Involvement Award shall be bestowed upon an undergraduate student that demonstrates exceptional leadership skills through their involvement in campus activities, student groups and community service. Nominees must be of junior or senior class standing.

Outstanding Freshman Award (1-29 hours)
The Outstanding Freshman Award is granted to an undergraduate student that has shown significant, positive growth in their leadership skills over the course for their freshman year at IU Southeast. As an involved student (whether that is in campus activities, student organizations, or community service initiatives) they exhibit commitment to serving the campus and or community. They demonstrate dedication and positive role modeling.

Outstanding Sophomore Award (30-59 hours)
The Outstanding Sophomore Award is granted to an undergraduate student that has shown significant, positive growth in their leadership skills over the course for their sophomore year at IU Southeast. As an involved student (whether that is in campus activities, student organizations, or community service initiatives) they exhibit commitment to serving the campus and or community. They demonstrate dedication and positive role modeling.

The Outstanding Junior Award is granted to an undergraduate student that has shown significant, positive growth in their leadership skills over the course for their junior year at IU Southeast. As an involved student (whether that is in campus activities, student organizations, or community service initiatives) they exhibit commitment to serving the campus and or community. They demonstrate dedication and positive role modeling.
